Former School Superintendent and Teacher Amy Slavensky Endorsed by SEIU and California Women’s List in Race for California’s 7th Assembly District
SACRAMENTO, CA—Today, public educator Amy Slavensky announced two landmark endorsements for her campaign for California’s 7th Assembly District from Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and California’s Women’s List (CWL). Her lifetime of public service and lived experience in her district continue to resonate with voters and supporters.

I understand what it means to support a family, and I greatly value the strength that comes from being a proud member of a union,” said Amy Slavensky. “I believe in the power and progress that comes from having women at the table. I’m ready to fight for all Californians.”

About Amy Slavensky
Amy Slavensky is a mom, a wife, a community member, and a grandmother to three. Born and raised in Fair Oaks and Carmichael communities right here in the district, Amy knows firsthand the challenges facing everyday people and how the government can help those most in need.
Amy is an educator, recently completing 40 years of service in the K-12 public school system. Her experience includes 10 years as a classroom teacher, 14 years as an elementary and middle school principal, and various central office roles such as director of K-12 curriculum and instruction, director of early childhood education, and principal coach/supervisor. Following retirement from her 5-year tenure as the Superintendent of Schools of Amador County Unified School District, she returned to her hometown in the San Juan Unified School District to assist the new Superintendent as Interim Deputy Superintendent from 2023 to 2025. During most of her years as an educator, Amy was raising two beautiful children and supporting a family.
Amy is the recipient of various awards, including the Association of California School Administrators’ (ACSA) Bob Price Distinguished Service Award, and she completed the California School Boards Association’s (CSBA) Master's in Governance program. Amy’s governance experience with local school boards and her broad knowledge of educational law and the legislative process have prepared her for service as a member of the State Assembly.
