AD 7 Candidate Amy Slavensky Honors the Life of Dolores Huerta

SACRAMENTO, CA—Today, civil rights leader Dolores Huerta passed away at the age of 96 after a long life of service and advocacy for her community and generations of working Californians. 

“Dolores Huerta led by example and with courage up until the very end,” said Amy Slavensky. “When I was a teacher, I made sure the children knew that no matter who they were or where they came from, they felt empowered to make a difference for themselves and their community.  Dolores was and will forever be an example to generations of women and all Californians of the power that comes with standing together, organized and unified for a better future. I carry that message on the campaign trail, now in her honor.
