Mobilized community support shows robust momentum before early voting.
SACRAMENTO, CA—This past weekend, over 80 volunteers knocked on thousands of doors across District 7 to reach voters one week before they begin casting ballots in this highly competitive race.
In addition to campaign volunteers, Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte, California School Employees Association, FemDems of Sacramento, Women Democrats of Sacramento County, Davis College Democrats, and College Democrats at Sacramento State mobilized over 75 members total to support Amy in the final sprint.
“What we’re hearing at the doors is that folks are fed up with the status quo and they’re ready for change,” said Amy Slavensky. “Nobody we’ve spoken with — Democrat, Republican, Independent, or No Party Preference — has ever had a conversation at the door with my opponent's campaign. In times like these where working Californians feel shut out by establishment politicians in Sacramento, this on-the-ground connection makes all the difference. I’m out here proving my commitment to show up and make myself accessible for communities across District 7, and it won’t stop on November 3.”
Democrats are favored to flip Republican-held seats across the region, especially with rising concerns among voters about how incumbents like Assemblymember Josh Hoover have failed to address rising healthcare costs, affordability, and public education.
This massive mobilization also comes one week before Amy Slavensky joins Congressman Bera, Dr. Richard Pan, and Sean Frame to launch their county-wide GOTV push on October 3, just two days before mail-in ballots drop in Sacramento County.
