AD 7 Candidate Amy Slavensky Responds to Latest Hoover Campaign Lie
SACRAMENTO, CA—Today, the Josh Hoover campaign went live with a new attack falsely claiming that the Amy Slavensky campaign surpassed the voluntary expenditure limit (VEL), despite transparent campaign finance reporting that proves the opposite. The Amy Slavnesky campaign has sent a cease & desist letter to Hoover’s campaign calling on them to retract these provable lies.
“This attack is an absolute lie and truly rich coming from a sitting member who has been enmeshed in Sacramento politics for years, showing that he clearly doesn't have a grasp of basic campaign finance law,” said campaign manager Sophia Wilson. “Josh Hoover and his campaign cherry picked numbers to lie about his opponent, all in a desperate attempt to save his political career. Either he knowingly lied about the facts, or doesn’t understand the law. Unlike Josh Hoover and his dark money allies who have poured almost $5 million into this race, we value transparency and honesty when it comes to our campaign finances.”
This attack also comes as the Hoover campaign is actively being investigated by the California Fair Political Practices Commission for failing to disclose using artificial intelligence in a September attack ad.
